​POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

PRIMARY HOST/MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT: There shall be a designated Primary Host who will be responsible for the payment and the group’s conduct and adherence to these policies and procedures. This person shall be at least 18 years old, unless alcohol is being consumed, in which case, the person must be at least 21 years old. A valid ID will be asked to be presented. Copies of ID will not be accepted.​​

NO SMOKING & CONTRABAND: Smoking and vaping is strictly prohibited at Backroom Karaoke. Any guest or customer found in violation of this policy, including smoking in any area of the premises, including restrooms or the karaoke room, will be asked to leave immediately. Additionally, any damage caused by smoking will be subject to a fee. Please be aware that no refund will be provided in such cases. We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a smoke-free environment for the comfort and safety of all our guests. No drugs, weapons, or any illegal contraband is allowed in the building. Violence will not be condoned. Anyone who acts violently towards any other people will be removed.

SUBSTITUTING GUESTS OR ADDITIONAL UNPAID GUESTS: Substituting guests or sneaking in additional people is strictly prohibited. Any additional guests shall check in the front before joining. We reserve the right to charge your credit card on file for additional guests for the hours rented. Any violation of sneaking in or substituting guests will incur a fee of $100 or all guests may be asked to leave immediately without any refund. ​

DECORATIONS FOR SPECIAL EVENTS: All decorations are subject to approval by management before your visit. While we permit minimal decorations such as balloons, we kindly ask that you refrain from using confetti or hanging anything on the walls. It's important to note that any damage caused by the approved decorations will be subject to a fee.​

PROPERTY DAMAGE POLICY: We kindly request that all guests and customers at Backroom Karaoke exercise care to avoid damaging any property during their visit. It is important to note that we reserve the right to charge the credit card on file for any damage caused to, or theft of, Backroom Karaoke property. To ensure accountability, our team conducts inspections of the room before and after your session.

CONDUCT POLICY: We value the comfort and safety of all our guests at Backroom Karaoke. Therefore, we reserve the right to refuse service to any guest or customer who exhibits unsuitable, rowdy, disorderly, or disruptive behavior. If any individual in your party is determined to be overly intoxicated, we reserve the right to ask you and your party to leave. In the event of excessive cleaning or vomiting, a cleaning fee of $150 will be charged. Guests or customers who violate this policy will be required to promptly leave the premises, and no refunds will be provided. ​

FOOD OR DRINK: We do not allow any outside food or drinks. If any food or drinks are discovered, we reserve the right to charge a $50 fee. Backroom Karaoke strictly follows a BYOB subject to N.J.S.A. 2C:33-27, allowing guests to bring alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises including beer and wine, however, hard liquor is not permitted. Please note that all alcoholic beverages will be subject to inspection. We have a zero-tolerance policy regarding hard liquor (defined as having 30% + alcohol content). If any hard liquor is found, we will ask for it to be discarded or all guests will have to leave without any refunds. At no time will any alcohol be permitted if there is not a person who is at least 21 years old. Anyone under the age of 18, shall not be permitted to drink any alcohol. If any underage person is caught drinking, the entire group will be asked to leave, and no refund will be given. Birthday desserts are exceptions to the outside food policy. Please bring your own plates, utensils, napkins, cups, ice and coolers for any permitted food and drink items. We do offer snacks and non-alcoholic drinks for sale. We can also cater outside food.

​​SONG CATALOG:​ While there are over 100,000 songs in the catalog, we cannot guarantee that every song will be available. Our provider is constantly adding new songs every week. You may browse the current song catalog online. No refunds will be given if you are not happy with the available song list.

​​​RESERVATIONS/CANCELLATIONS: Due to high demand and to discourage no-shows, a non-refundable booking fee of $50 (plus sales tax) is required for all reservation bookings. Walk-ins are not required to pay this booking fee. The booking fee of $50 will be a credit towards the total cost of the room rental. Booking fees are non-refundable even if you cancel your booking. Booking fees are only refundable if Backroom Karaoke is unable to fulfill your booking. If you need to cancel your booking, we kindly request a notice at least 2 days before the scheduled date. If you cancel your booking within 2 days of the scheduled date, the remaining balance for your reservation may be charged.

ARRIVING LATE: If you arrive late, we will only accommodate a 30 minute delay in the start of your session, and the balance of time reserved will be charged. For example: If you reserve for 2 hours, and arrive 1 hour late, we will still charge for 1.5 hours. If you reserve 3 hours and arrive 2 hours late, we will still charge 2.5 hours.  This is to prevent people from reserving a large time slot with no intention of using all the time. Minimum 1 hour room rental, even if you are late. We appreciate your understanding that our availability is limited, and by making a reservation, you are reserving a spot that could have otherwise been offered to another customer.​​

CREDIT CARD OR DRIVER’S LICENSE ON FILE: We require either a credit card or driver’s license to be retained until our staff can inspect the room after your session is over for any damage, theft or excessive cleaning. If there are issues, we will ask for payment for applicable fees before returning your credit card/license. We will return the credit card/driver’s license if no issues are discovered.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY: Backroom Karaoke assumes no liability or responsibility for the following:
1. Any current or future injuries sustained by guests or customers.
2. Any damages incurred to personal items.
3. Loss or theft of personal items.
